The Science of Reading: An Introduction and Practical Classroom Applications

The Science of Reading: An Introduction and Practical Classroom Applications

This workshop is designed to provide participants with an overview of reading science (or “The Science of Reading,” as it is widely known) and how it applies to their instructional spaces.  Research will be shared and discussed, but the majority of the workshop will focus on pedagogy and practical applications for embedding SoR-aligned literacy practices and learning opportunities into everyday instruction.  The workshop will be gentle, accommodating, and responsive to teacher needs.

This session is day one of our Science of Reading Institute. Lunch will be provided.

Presented by Dr. Amy Stewart -- literacy coach and author of Little Readers, Big Thinkers.

Note: If you would like to attend both sessions on August 6th and August 7th, there is a discounted rate. You MUST sign up for the seperate session "The Science of Reading: Day 1 & 2 Bundle."

Participant will be responsible for the registration fee unless cancellation notice is received by the ROE 4+ office within 7 business days of the training. Refunds will not be processed unless this criteria is met.
