Explore the crucial role of fluency as the bridge between decoding and comprehension in grades K-4, while recognizing that fluency is not solely about speed but encompasses a blend of accuracy and expressive reading.

Participants will dig into the intricate components of fluency—accuracy, rate, and prosody—through hands-on activities and modeling to grasp how they collectively serve as the linchpin connecting the foundational skill of decoding to the higher-level cognitive process of comprehension.
