Substitute Teaching Information
Promoting quality education, leadership, and support for the Districts of Boone-Winnebago Counties
Substitute Teachers MUST hold a valid educator license (requiring at least a bachelor's degree) which is registered with the Regional Superintendent of Schools in the county where they will be employed.
This is only the first step in the process to begin working as a substitute teacher in our region and does not guarantee employment. You will also need to contact each district in which you are interested in working for further instructions as to their employment and notification procedures. You will not begin receiving calls until you complete this process AND inform the individual school districts of your availability.
Results of your criminal background results are generally received within 1-2 weeks. You are entitled to a copy of these results and will be notified via e-mail when they are available. Our office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday and a valid photo ID will be required to receive these and all other documents. If you have any questions, Please contact: Jamie Watts or Stephanie Putzstuck.
